THE FOLLOWING ARE SOME OF OUR MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.

Table of Contents

How much do you charge?

  • We will try and fit within your budget.
  • We are not an agency so you are dealing with us directly. There is no added cost.
  • Our fee is equal to the time and distance we have to travel and draw.
  • We prefer a minimum of two hours for closer engagements; three hours for farther ones.
  • For CUSTOM CARICATURES, a price cannot be determined until we know a lot of factors. (Please Click here to answer some questions.)

What if we just want one drawing?

  • Depending upon the nature of your request and the complexity of your vision, our office rate is negotiable which we will try to fit within your budget.
  • Please be aware that we have a $50.00 minimum. Every job is different and it is difficult to give a flat rate without knowing what the assignment requires.

How long does it take?

  • AT PARTIES: Our caricatures take between 3 to 5 minutes resulting in about 20 PEOPLE PER HOUR; Or 10 COUPLES PER HOUR; Or 15 GROUPS OF FOUR PER HOUR and so on. Despite common myth; THE PROCESS IS NOT QUICKER IF YOU PUT THREE PEOPLE IN ONE PICTURE.
  • SINGLE DRAWINGS: We can work within your deadline. But please give us at least two weeks notice.

Can you draw from a photograph??

Absolutely. But please remember that we are drawing a caricature of the photograph and not the actual person.

  • We require recent pictures. It may not look like the person if we change the hair, age, weight or even the sex of the person that’s in the photo. It is also preferable that you do not give us photos of the people wearing masks, glasses, or heavy Halloween makeup unless that is the way you want them drawn.
  • It is also nice to give us a clear and distinct image of the person. RULE: if their face in the photo is smaller than your thumbnail, it’s too small.
  • This is true for both Caricatures and Portraits.

What is the difference between a Caricature and a Portrait?

Believe it or not, some people don’t seem to know. They also don’t know the difference between the terms PAINTING and DRAWING. (We, of course, are not talking about YOU) But for those other guys who cannot picture in your mind the difference in rendering styles, we hope our sample will explain it.
Please notice how THE CARICATURE (or Cartoon) Exaggerates.

What's your real job?

THIS is our real job. Hard to believe, huh? Our other job is chasing down money from people who don't think this is a "real" job.
